The plant replaces aging generation at the predecessor Alamitos Generating Station site and provides reliable, high-efficiency natural-gas generation contracted to Southern California Edison under a 20-year tolling agreement. AES Alamitos Energy, LLC owns and operates the facility as part of the broader AES Southland Energy portfolio.
