## Reviewed overview

Border Winds Wind Farm is a 150 MW onshore wind turbine plant in Rolette County. Border Winds is a 150 MW wind farm of 75 Vestas V100-2.0 turbines spread over more than 19,000 acres north of Rolla in Rolette County, North Dakota. RES Americas bought the partially developed project from Sequoia Energy in August 2013, built it, and transferred it to Xcel Energy, which acquired it in December 2015. EIA records an initial operation date of August 2015. Xcel hosted the dedication in July 2017. It connects at 230 kV in the MISO balancing authority.
