Canadian Hills Wind is a 293.7 MW onshore wind turbine plant in Canadian County. Canadian Hills is an approximately 300 MW wind farm near El Reno, Oklahoma. Apex developed and built it, and it began commercial operation on December 22, 2012. Atlantic Power bought an additional 48% interest in 2012 as a $310 million construction financing closed for the $470 million project, and in 2015 agreed to sell its 99% economic interest to TerraForm Power. The Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority buys 49.2 MW under a 25-year agreement.
