Cardinal Point Wind is a 150 MW wind farm owned and operated by Capital Power on 20,000 acres in McDonough and Warren Counties, Illinois. Its 60 General Electric turbines began commercial operations on March 16, 2020, and connect at Ameren’s 138-kV Macomb-Niota transmission line. Fixed-price Renewable Energy Credit contracts for 15 years were secured with Ameren, ComEd and MidAmerican, and a 12-year fixed price contract with a U.S. financial institution covers 85% of the facility’s output.
