French Landing Dam is a 1.6-megawatt conventional hydroelectric plant in Wayne County, Michigan. The facility sits on the Huron River in Van Buren Charter Township near Belleville and runs a single vertical Francis turbine unit. It is owned and operated by Eagle Creek Renewable Energy, LLC, through its project subsidiary STS Hydropower, LLC. The dam and powerhouse date to 1925 under Detroit Edison and, after a 1980s restoration, resumed commercial hydroelectric operation in December 1988. The plant sells its output into the MISO market. STS Hydropower tendered a new FERC license application for the French Landing Project in 2025 as the facility moves through relicensing.
