George Neal South is Unit 4 of MidAmerican Energy's George Neal Energy Center south of Sioux City, Iowa, a 644-megawatt coal-fueled unit that came online in 1979. MidAmerican is the majority owner and operator; NIMECA municipal members own 41 MW and Webster City another 17 MW, leased to Corn Belt Power Cooperative. A 2013 consent decree required baghouses on Neal Units 3 and 4.
