## Reviewed overview

Golden Plains is a 200 MW wind farm in Winnebago and Kossuth counties in north-central Iowa, built for Alliant Energy's Iowa energy company. EDF Renewables developed and constructed it under contracts signed in June 2018, using about 81 General Electric 2.5 and 2.3-megawatt turbines. The farm reached commercial operation on March 27, 2020, as part of Alliant Energy's plan to reach 1,299 MW of wind in Iowa by the end of 2020.
