Grasshopper Solar is an 80 MW solar facility in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, north of Chase City, in Dominion Energy's Virginia solar portfolio and operational since 2020. Dominion Energy Services filed a 2019 notice of intent with Virginia's Department of Environmental Quality for the project on roughly 927 acres, on behalf of Virginia Electric and Power Company. Dominion included it among five solar projects announced in 2019 to support Facebook's operations.
