Hale Wind Project is a 478 MW wind farm about 19 miles southeast of Plainview in Hale County, Texas, built by Xcel Energy to serve Texas and New Mexico customers. Xcel bought the development from NextEra Energy Resources in July 2018. Wanzek erected 239 Vestas turbines, and the project started commercial operations on June 28, 2019, after more than $700 million of investment.
