## Reviewed overview

Kearny North Energy Storage is SDG&E’s 10 MW / 40 MWh lithium-ion battery facility at its Kearny Mesa operations center in San Diego. The four-hour system is one of two separately registered Kearny installations: North is EIA plant 64612 and South is EIA plant 64614. SDG&E’s 20 MW / 80 MWh Kearny project rating covers both installations. The August 2026 EIA inventory lists North’s generator KNES as operating. SDG&E operates the site from Palomar Energy Center, with most maintenance performed by Fluence under a long-term service agreement.
