Kearny South Energy Storage is SDG&E’s 10 MW / 40 MWh battery at its Kearny Mesa operations site in San Diego. It is one of two separately registered plants in the combined 20 MW / 80 MWh Kearny project. EIA lists South’s operating month as February 2022; SDG&E announced commercial operation of the combined project in March 2022. Combined-project equipment counts are not assigned to South alone.
