Lake Charles Power Station is a 994 MW natural gas combined-cycle plant in Westlake, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, owned by Entergy Louisiana. It uses Mitsubishi 501GAC gas turbines and was built for about $872 million to serve fast-growing industrial demand in southwest Louisiana. Construction began in August 2017, and the plant entered commercial operation on March 28, 2020, ahead of its June schedule. Entergy projects customer savings of $1.3 billion to $2 billion over a 30-year life.
