Mankato Energy Center is a natural gas-fired combined-cycle plant in Mankato, Blue Earth County, Minnesota, with a 375 MW first unit and a 345 MW expansion unit that together give about 760 MW. Calpine developed it, Southern Power acquired it in 2016, and Xcel Energy completed a $650 million purchase in January 2020. Xcel had been buying the plant's output under a power purchase agreement.
