Battery power (MW) and stored energy (MWh) are separate measures. Shared physical-site membership does not establish electrical connectivity, settlement or a common export limit.

## Reviewed overview

Michigan City Generating Station is a NIPSCO-owned coal plant on the Lake Michigan shoreline in Indiana, on a 123-acre property used since 1931. Its Unit 12 is a 469-MW coal unit that opened in 1974 and is scheduled to retire in 2028. NIPSCO has reconfirmed that date in its 2021 and 2024 resource plans, and a July 2026 IURC staff report recommends the date be re-evaluated in the 2027 plan.
