Microsoft's Elk Grove Village data center is the first Microsoft building on its plot in the Elk Grove Technology Park, with a building permit application at 201 Innovation Dr. valued at $123 million. Microsoft paid Brennan Investment Group $52.2 million for the 36.6-acre parcel in January 2020, and grading and base work on the first building has been reported. The plot could eventually hold three data center buildings totaling 400,000 sq ft. Microsoft reportedly bought a parcel so ComEd could build a new substation in the park.
