## Reviewed overview

Montgomery County Power Station is a two-unit, 993 MW natural gas-fired combined cycle plant at Entergy's Lewis Creek site near Willis, Texas, about 50 miles north of Houston. Built by Entergy Texas with McDermott as contractor, it uses Mitsubishi Power gas turbines, Nooter Eriksen heat recovery boilers and a Toshiba steam turbine. Construction began in February 2019 as the utility's first new power plant in 40 years, and it reached commercial operation on January 1, 2021.
