Omaha Public Power District - Otoe County - SPP

Nebraska City Station is a two-unit, coal-fired steam electric power generating facility located at 7264 County Road L in Otoe County, Nebraska, approximately five miles south of Nebraska City on the Missouri River. Both units use subbituminous coal with conventional steam coal technology and are owned and operated by Omaha Public Power District. Unit 1 (651.6 MW nameplate, 650.3 MW summer) entered commercial service in 1979; Unit 2 (738 MW nameplate, 687.2 MW summer) entered commercial service in May 2009 and was OPPD's first new baseload plant in 30 years. Both units are equipped with state-of-the-art emission controls.
