Newington Energy Center is a 605.5 MW nameplate natural-gas-fired combined-cycle facility located at 200 Shattuck Way in Newington, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. The facility entered commercial service in October 2002 and consists of two General Electric GE Frame 7FA combustion turbines (each rated 185.6 MW nameplate), two heat-recovery steam generators, and one steam turbine (rated 234.3 MW nameplate) in a 2×1 combined-cycle configuration. The facility is dual-fuel, with natural gas as primary fuel and ultra-low-sulfur diesel as secondary fuel, and can switch between fuels during operation. It includes selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and dry-low-NOx combustion controls for emissions management, and can operate in supplemental duct-burner firing mode.
