Battery power (MW) and stored energy (MWh) are separate measures. Shared physical-site membership does not establish electrical connectivity, settlement or a common export limit.

## Reviewed overview

Plant X Generating Station is an Xcel Energy natural gas-fueled power plant about 5 miles south of Earth, Texas, whose generating units have operated for at least six decades. Xcel announced in 2023 that it would add solar at the site. Plant X Solar, 150 MW on roughly 1,200 acres east of the plant, has been operational since April 1, 2026, and replaces the former gas-fueled Units 1 and 2. It connects through the existing substation by a 115-kV line, and a 150 MW battery system is proposed for 2027.
