Plaquemine Cogeneration Plant is a gas-fired facility at Dow's chemical complex in Plaquemine, Louisiana, built around four 170 MW combustion turbine generators and a 200 MW steam turbine for 880 MW of power plus steam. AEP developed it, and Dow leased and operated it from commercial operation on March 18, 2004. Dow completed its purchase from an AEP subsidiary on December 1, 2006, to generate power and steam more efficiently for the site.
