Plum Point Energy Station is a 665-megawatt subcritical coal-fired plant about five miles east of Osceola in Mississippi County, Arkansas. It began commercial operation on September 1, 2010 and burns Powder River Basin coal. Plum Point Energy Associates, the Missouri Joint Municipal Electric Utility Commission, Empire District Electric, East Texas Electric Cooperative and the Municipal Energy Agency of Mississippi own it, and NAES Corp. operates it.
