## Reviewed overview

Prairie Creek Generating Station is Alliant Energy's plant at 3300 C St. SW in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It ended coal burning on December 31, 2025. Units 1 and 2 are retired, Unit 3 (50 MW) is converting to natural gas, and Unit 4 (148.8 MW) continues on gas. A new 94 MW Cedar River Generating Station of five gas-fired engines is planned on the site for June 2027.
