Shelby Energy County is a 483 MW natural gas fired combustion turbine plant in Shelby County. Shelby County Energy Center is a natural gas peaking plant in Neoga, Illinois, in the MISO market. It uses eight General Electric LM6000 aeroderivative simple-cycle combustion turbines and is rated at 352 MW. NRG sold it to a Rockland Capital affiliate in 2015, and Earthrise Energy acquired it from Rockland Capital in a three-plant Illinois transaction around the turn of 2021 to 2022.
