Sherco Solar III is a 250 MW solar facility near Clear Lake in Sherburne County, Minnesota, and the third phase of Xcel Energy's Sherco Solar project at the Sherburne County Generating Station. It covers about 1,750 acres and reuses existing grid connections at the Sherco site. Xcel announced Phase 3 complete on July 21, 2026, bringing Sherco Solar to 710 MW. The project replaces capacity of retired coal-fired Unit 2.
