Battery power (MW) and stored energy (MWh) are separate measures. Shared physical-site membership does not establish electrical connectivity, settlement or a common export limit.

## Reviewed overview

Sioux Energy Center is a coal-fired plant on the Mississippi River at West Alton in St. Charles County, Missouri, owned and operated by Ameren Missouri. Its two cyclone-boiler units began operating in 1967 and 1968, and news coverage puts its output near 1,099 MW. In July 2026 Ameren Missouri asked regulators to approve a 2,100 MW natural gas combined-cycle plant on the site, expected by the end of 2031, as the coal units are anticipated to close between 2032 and 2035.
