St. Charles Power Station is a 980 MW combined-cycle gas turbine plant in Montz, Louisiana, owned and operated by Entergy Louisiana. It entered commercial operation on May 23, 2019, ahead of schedule and within budget, at a cost of roughly $870 million. Entergy projected customer savings of more than $1.3 billion over the plant’s 30-year life, and the station is part of the company’s effort to replace older gas and oil units with more efficient generation.
