Sumpter is a 340 MW natural gas peaking plant in Sumpter, Michigan, in Wayne County. FirstEnergy Generation Corporation built it in 2002 with four 85-MW natural gas combustion turbines, and it was the company's only facility in Michigan. FirstEnergy announced the sale to Wolverine Power Supply Cooperative on December 17, 2009, and Wolverine closed the purchase as the plant's current owner.
