## Data quality

- Talen’s portfolio page reports 1,505 MW of owned generating capacity, while other regulatory and market records cite approximately 1.5 GW or unit ratings near 752 MW; these figures may reflect different capacity conventions. Talen describes the station as running exclusively on natural gas, while its securities filing says Units 1 and 2 are dispatchable on either coal or natural gas and that coal generation was required to cease by the end of 2025. The directory description therefore distinguishes operating fuel from remaining technical capability. The 2016 estimate of approximately $70 million was an early gas co-firing modification estimate that excluded third-party pipeline expenses; later filings report aggregate Montour conversion capital expenditures of $90 million in 2022 and $56 million during 2023, which should not be treated as sale consideration or a separately identified project-financing amount. A 2020 transaction in which UGI sold a 102-MW stake to Montour LLC involved the separate Conemaugh facility, not the Montour Steam Electric Station, and is excluded from the station’s ownership history.
