Tatanka Ridge is a 154.8 MW onshore wind farm in Deuel County, South Dakota, with 56 GE turbines: six 2.3 MW and fifty 2.82 MW machines. It began operation in January 2021. Tatanka Ridge Wind is owned 85% by WEC Energy Group, which operates the facility, and 15% by Avangrid Renewables, the developer. Power is sold to Google and Dairyland Power Cooperative, which holds a 51.6 MW power purchase agreement. The project covers about 18,000 acres of farmland and ranchland.
