# East River

East River Generating Station is a Con Edison electricity-and-steam cogeneration facility at 701–827 East 14th Street in Manhattan, New York. The station combines legacy natural-gas-fired steam-turbine equipment with two natural-gas-fired combustion turbines, heat-recovery steam generators, and duct-firing equipment installed as part of the 2001–2005 East River Repowering Project. The facility uses natural gas as its primary fuel and low-sulfur distillate as emergency backup.
