Greens Bayou
NRG Energy · Harris County · ERCOT
Greens Bayou is a six-unit natural-gas simple-cycle plant in Harris County, Texas, operated by NRG Texas Power. EIA's May 2026 inventory reports six 72 MW combustion-turbine records totaling 432 MW nameplate, 327 MW net summer, and 396 MW net winter capability, all dated December 1976. The site has a longer history: ASME documents the 1949 Greens Bayou generator as an engineering landmark, but that historical installation is not one of the six current EIA generator records.
