Permian Basin Power Plant is a five-unit natural-gas simple-cycle facility in Ward County, Texas, operated by Luminant Generation Company. EIA's May 2026 inventory reports five 89.4 MW combustion turbines totaling 447 MW nameplate, 320 MW net summer, and 387 MW net winter capability. Units 1 through 3 are dated May 1988 and Units 4 and 5 February 1990. Vistra uses a rounded 325 MW current plant rating and announced two additional units totaling 860 MW for the site in September 2025; that expansion is planned capacity, not part of the current EIA total.
