Wading River is an operating three-generator petroleum-liquids combustion-turbine power plant on North Country Road in Shoreham, Suffolk County, New York. It entered service in August 1989 and has approximately 238.5 MW of nameplate capacity. The facility consists of three GE Frame 7EA simple-cycle gas turbines, each rated 79.5 MW, operating on distillate fuel oil. National Grid Generation LLC owns and operates the station, and the Long Island Power Authority purchases its capacity under a power supply agreement expiring in April 2028. NYISO is the balancing authority and market operator.
