Tesla operates Cortex 1, an AI-training-compute data center at Gigafactory Texas in Austin, with more than 100,000 H100-equivalent GPUs installed and an initial 50,000-GPU cluster that went live in Q4 2024. The facility requires 130 MW of data-center power and includes 260 MWh of behind-the-meter battery storage plus a 250 MWh front-of-the-meter ERCOT-participating Megapack system. Tesla also operates 15 MW of rooftop solar generation at the broader Giga Texas facility.
