The National Security Agency operates the Texas Cryptologic Center on 69.3 acres at 1 Sony Place, San Antonio, a former Sony fabrication plant converted for NSA use beginning in 2005; Corporate Office Properties Trust holds ownership. The facility comprises an original 470,000-square-foot complex, a 94,000-square-foot data-storage building completed June 2010, and three additional office buildings constructed 2009–2014, with a third-party report citing 40 MW operational capacity. The $500 million facility supports foreign signals intelligence, cybersecurity, and 24/7 security operations.
