Astoria Energy II is a 650 MW dual-fuel natural-gas-fired combined-cycle power plant located at 17-10 Steinway Street in Astoria, Queens, New York. Operated by Astoria Energy II LLC, the facility comprises two GE 7FA combustion-turbine generators (200 MW each) and one GE D-11 steam-turbine generator (250 MW) with supplemental Alstom heat-recovery steam generators. Commercially operational since July 2011, the plant sells all output bilaterally to the New York Power Authority under a long-term power purchase agreement and is interconnected to the bulk transmission system at the NYPA Astoria Annex Substation (345 kV).
