Project Hercules is a planned data center campus by AVAIO Digital Partners at the Appomattox Center for Business and Commerce in Appomattox County, Virginia, on about 436 acres. Local reporting describes seven planned data centers, with construction of the first expected to start by the end of 2026 and operation expected in 2029. The developer markets 300 MW of grid power and 700 MW of behind-the-meter power, 1,000 MW of baseload in total. Central Virginia Electric Cooperative is the local distributor and Dominion Energy the transmission provider. An air permit application for backup generators was reported in April.
Local reporting says the first of the planned data centers is expected to begin operating in 2029 and the full complex to take about 10 years
