The Point Comfort site has twenty production units and five business divisions on a nearly 2,500-acre petrochemical complex. Its original VCM/PVC plant went online in 1983, and a 1994 investment added olefins, LLDPE, HDPE, polypropylene, chlor-alkali, ethylene dichloride, ethylene glycol and power co-generation. Formosa reports a completed $5 billion expansion adding olefins, HDPE, LDPE, PE and EG units and utilities.
