Under Construction
The Google Michigan City Data Center, formerly Project Maize, converts a long-vacant industrial building at 402 Royal Road in Michigan City, Indiana. Google acquired the property and is the operator, and the project was reported under construction in October 2026. Northern Indiana Public Service Company serves it under a power contract with a 300 MW contract load and a summer 2026 service start. The site runs on grid power with backup diesel generators permitted by the state, and the customer bears the cost of the transmission and substation assets.
