Google The Dalles River Road Data Centers
Under Construction · Google · 3500 River Road, The Dalles, OR
Google is building two data centers at 3500 River Road in the Port of The Dalles, Wasco County, Oregon, on the site of a former aluminum smelter that became a Superfund cleanup site. The property is owned by Design LLC, a Google company, and Whiting-Turner is general contractor. The first building is about 288,000 sq ft; the city approved the second, a single-story 290,000 sq ft building, in January 2024. A Strategic Investment agreement abates an estimated $147 million in property taxes over 20 years. The plants rely on surface water captured in on-site reservoirs.
