Overview
FERC classifies Magnolia LNG as approved, not under construction. FERC granted Magnolia LNG, LLC a five-year extension of time until April 15, 2031 to construct and make the project available for service.
Profile
- Electricity and grid
- The terminal would require the maximum load provided by electrical power of 31 MW, being 6.5 MW for each of the four liquefaction trains and an additional 5 MW during LNG carrier loading. Magnolia proposes to obtain a portion of the power required for operation of the LNG terminal from Entergy and to generate the remaining power requirement from gas turbines. The remaining 6.5 MW for each train would come through a new switching station and a new 1.3-mile 230-kV line to the Graywood Substation.
- Design
- The total power requirement for each liquefaction train is 72.5 megawatts (MW), of which 66 MW would be generated from two 33 MW gas turbines driving the mixed refrigerant compressors.
