Micron Technology Manassas
Large load · 9600 GODWIN DRIVE, Manassas, VA
Micron's Manassas fab on Godwin Drive in the City of Manassas, Virginia, makes DRAM, including DDR4 and LP4 memory for automotive, defense and aerospace, industrial, networking and medical customers. Dominion Energy is its energy provider. A $3 billion expansion announced in 2018 was followed by an expansion and modernization of more than $2 billion, and on May 22, 2026 Micron began manufacturing 1-alpha DRAM there.
Overview
In August 2018 Gov. Ralph Northam announced that Micron would invest $3 billion to increase memory production at Manassas, creating 1,100 jobs by 2030, with a Virginia MEI custom performance grant of up to $70 million for site preparation and facility costs. The City of Manassas and utility partners provided a support package that included substantial infrastructure upgrades. Robert M. Blue, then head of Dominion Energy's Power Delivery Group, said Dominion was proud to be Micron's energy provider.
