Proposed
Project Hazelnut is a proposed data center campus in Hazle Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, developed by NorthPoint Development through NP Hazleton Holdings 1, LLC. The plan calls for 15 data center buildings and four other buildings on about 1,350 acres. PPL has said the project would need 240 MW initially and up to 1,980 MW by 2033, served at 230 kV, though another part of the same filing projects 965 MW by 2031. Township supervisors denied land-use approval, and the appeal is pending in Commonwealth Court.
