Sycamore Cogeneration is a natural gas-fired power facility with 300 MW of EIA-reported operating capacity in Kern County, California, registered as EIA Plant ID 50134. Chevron Holdings, Inc. is the public owner or developer; Sycamore Cogeneration Co is the registered plant entity or operator. Commercial operation began on January 1, 1988. The facility interconnects at SYCAMORE CANYON GEN UNIT 1–4 (CAISO APNodes POD_SYCAMR_2_UNIT 1-APND through POD_SYCAMR_2_UNIT 4-APND) at 220 kV. Its grid role is cogeneration supplying electricity to the grid and process steam to nearby Chevron oilfield operations; the turbines have also operated in standby mode and been brought online for electricity production.
