- The Evocative brand got its start in a former Colo.com data center in Emeryville, and Arman Khalili acquired Evocative in 2017. He built the current business through acquisitions including assets from Carrier-1 Data Centers, ZR Systems, Cyberverse, Krypt, VPLS Inc. and Wave Broadband. In September 2022 the company consolidated its hosting operations under the Evocative brand and acquired nine data centers from INAP, adding the Boston, Atlanta and Seattle markets and increasing its employee count by 30 percent.
