Amazon Data Services is building a data center at 7951 Loisdale Road in Springfield, Fairfax County, on a 17.5-acre site where two office buildings were demolished in June 2023. Fairfax County assessment records list the building at 235,422 sq ft of gross floor area. By March 2024 the first data center building was up. Virginia DEQ permit 74272 covers twenty-nine 2,500 ekW diesel emergency generators and one 1,600 ekW unit.
