Baron Winds Farm (EIA plant code 60596) is the operational Phase I / Baron Winds 1 wind facility in Steuben County, New York, developed, owned, and operated by Baron Winds LLC through the RWE corporate group. Phase I consists of 32 onshore wind turbines—24 Vestas V150-4.2 MW units and 8 Gamesa G114 2.625 MW units—with approximately 122 MW of installed capacity. The facility achieved commercial operation in December 2022 and is connected to the New York grid at the Canandaigua substation (230 kV NYSEG interconnection). Baron Winds Farm is the largest onshore wind-energy generator in Steuben County and is capable of supplying electricity equivalent to the annual demand of approximately 50,000 U.S. homes.
