Compass Datacenters is redeveloping the former Sears headquarters at 3333 Beverly Road in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, a 197-acre site, into a data center campus. Compass has announced plans for five hyperscale data centers, each expected to exceed 250,000 square feet, and a projected investment of about $10 billion. Reporting from June 2024 said ComEd would power the first data center in mid-2026. The existing 2.4 million square foot headquarters complex was to be demolished.
