Dynegy Moss Landing Power Plant Hybrid is a 1,848 MW batteries, natural gas fired combined cycle plant in Monterey County. Moss Landing in Monterey County, California, is a 1,060 MW gas combined-cycle plant of two power blocks cooled by seawater, operating since July 2002 and owned by Vistra's Moss Landing Power Company. PG&E built the original 1950 plant; Duke, LS Power and Dynegy owned it before Vistra's 2018 merger. Vistra added batteries reaching 750 MW/3,000 MWh under PG&E resource adequacy contracts. A January 16, 2025 fire destroyed the Moss 300 building; Vistra intends to retire Moss 300 and Moss 100, with Moss 350 undecided.
