Edgewood Energy LLC
Edgewood Energy LLC is an 88 MW natural-gas-fired simple-cycle combustion-turbine power plant located in Brentwood, New York, within the Long Island submarket of NYISO. The facility comprises two GE LM6000 PC Sprint turbine generators, each rated 50 MW, and includes selective catalytic reduction (SCR) units, generator step-up transformers, gas-compression equipment, mechanical and electrical support buildings, water-injection systems, a sound wall, and an oil tank farm. Constructed between February and July 2002 by Phoenix Power Group under a fast-track schedule for Pennsylvania Power & Light, the plant has operated continuously since July 2002. Its output is sold to the Long Island Power Authority to meet peak-load demand and provide local grid reliability in western Suffolk County. The facility interconnects to LIPA's 69 kV grid at the Brentwood transmission node and is part of the NYISO balancing authority and Long Island submarket. As of January 2025, Edgewood is owned and operated by MPH Cross Island Power LLC, a special-purpose vehicle controlled by Hull Street Energy and operating within the Milepost Power generation portfolio.
